JPAS presents MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET
A Christmas Classic is Brought to the Stage Just in Time for the Holidays!
Do you believe in Santa Claus? A holiday movie classic is coming to the stage this December. Celebrate the magic and the joy of the holiday season with the Jefferson Performing Arts Society's production of MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, on stage December 5-14 at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, 400 Phlox Street in Metairie. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Janet Shea directs this heart-warming Christmas story.

Odyssey Ball Will Preview New Fabergé Exhibition

(Thursday, October 2, 2008)-The Forty-Third Odyssey Ball, to be held the evening of Saturday, November 8, at the New Orleans Museum of Art, will be the first opportunity for patrons to preview Objects of Desire: Fabergé from the Hodges Family Collection, a major exhibition of works by master Russian jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé, many of which have never been seen by the public.
The annual Odyssey Ball is among the most highly anticipated events on the city's social calendar. Veterans Day at The National World War II Museum
Free admission for vets, active military, Guard, Reserve and immediate families
NEW ORLEANS (October 28, 2008) – On Tuesday, November 11, 2008, The National World War II Museum will continue its annual tradition of special Veterans Day activities. In addition to day-long, patriotic programming for the entire family, the Museum is offering FREE admission for all veterans, active and retired military and their immediate families.
Activities will kick off with a 10:30 am performance by the U.S. Marine Forces Reserve Band.
At 11:00 am, the Museum will honor all veterans in a special program featuring Maj. General David Mize (USMC Ret), Gen. Charles E. Campbell, Commander of the U.S. Army Forces Command, and Museum President and CEO, Gordon “Nick” Mueller, Ph.D.

23 October 2008 [New Orleans, LA] — The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) and The NOCCA Institute present a concert by the chamber music ensemble Musaica, featuring original work by composer Jay Weigel, commissioned by sculptor Lin Emery. Emery’s sculptures will be on view at the concert, courtesy of Arthur Roger Gallery. The concert will also include a performance of Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio. The performance is part of the CAC’s Music of New Orleans Series and The NOCCA Institute’s CENTER STAGE concert series.
