Learn more about the traditional art of water gilding and try your hand at
oil gilding, as well as other gilding techniques. A replica of a French trophy frame from the Mount Vernon collection, reconstructed by Gold Leaf Studios and French artisans for the French-American Cultural Foundation, will be on display and used to demonstrate water gilding techniques. The original trophy frame was given to George Washington by Louis XVI in 1791.
