With a successful Carnival season on the books, 2012 has started off great for New Orleans tourism, but there's a lot yet to come says Kelly Schulz, Vice President of Communications at the New Orleans Visitors and Convention Bureau.
We have spring festival season, major sporting events like the SEC Basketball Championship, the Final Four, some major conventions and a star-studded Jazz Fest, Shulz says and, "New Orleans is really on a roll right now. There's so many positive things that are happening in the city particularly in the tourism industry and tourism is based on image and perception."
Schulz says all the successful events we've had recently helps spread the word about the city, as do all the travel journalists who've been visiting and will now be writing about the Crescent City.
Jazz Fest could bring in record crowds this year with Bruce Springsteen, the Eagles, Tom Petty, the Foo Fighters and the 50th Anniversary Reunion of the Beach Boys.
