All flights into and out of Lakefront Airport and Louis Armstrong International Airport have been canceled through Wednesday, Mayor Mitch Landrieu said in a news conference Tuesday (Jan. 28)
"The airlines are going to cease and desist until we're out of harm's way," Landrieu said.
Aviation Director Iftikhar Ahmad said that the last flight left Louis Armstrong International at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
"We hope to resume flights on Thursday," Ahmad said. He added that passengers should check with their airlines for further flight departure and arrival information.
