MEDIA ALERT: Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association & New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity Join Forces to Build New Homes for Families In Need Of Housing, Kickoff Date: December 18 - 10 a.m.

WHAT: Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association (GNOHLA) and New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) join forces on December 18 to assist families in need of housing. This partnership, the first of its kind confirms hoteliers' continued support of New Orleans' communities.

WHEN: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

WHERE: 4015 N. Derbigny Street in the 9th Ward (Take N. Claiborne/N. Robertson Street; left on Alvar Street, approx. 13 blocks past Franklin Avenue; right on N. Derbigny Street; 4015 N.
Derbigny is approx. one block on the left).

HOW: GNOHLA, in partnership with NOAHH, has pledged to volunteer 40,000 building hours and provide fundraising support to be dedicated to building and construction costs. NOAHH will conduct seminars offering an overview of their housing program, assistance with filling out first stage applications and additional information about homeownership opportunities for hotel employees and their families in need of housing.

New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH), an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. NOAHH builds new houses in
partnership with sponsors, volunteers, communities, and homeowner families to eliminate poverty housing in the New Orleans area while serving as a catalyst to make decent shelter a
