The Expedia family of travel booking websites believes there’s enough potential business in New Orleans to warrant making the city one of its regional hubs.
Its new office at Place St. Charles could have six employees by year’s end, but the company sees far greater significance in the number of travelers it anticipates bringing to the city.
Ted Bogan, who has worked with Expedia Inc. since 2012 and in New Orleans since last year, was until recently its only employee in town. He’s now the senior market manager who will lead the local team in forging relationships with the hospitality industry in order to offer package deals through Expedia’s websites.
Expedia Inc. is the parent company for Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com and some 170 travel websites around the world.
