Louis Armstrong International Airport officials say 2017 broke another record for the number of travelers passing through.

The airport reports serving over 12 million last year thanks to an increase in flights. A total of 11.1 million used the airport in 2016.
In 2015, 10.6 million travelers passed through.
It’s the seventh year of continued passenger growth, according to a news release. The airport has seen a 35 percent increase since 2010.
In 2017, the airport added new nonstop flights from companies including Allegiant Air, Southwest Airlines, Vacation Express, Alaska Airlines, Virgin America, Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines.
British Airways began offering nonstop flights to London, and Condor Airlines launched direct service to Germany.
