CityBusiness staff reports
The former Baronne Inn and Suites in the Central Business District is set to reopen this month as a completely renovated and rebranded Fairfield Inn and Suites.
The 103-room hotel at 346 Baronne St. is in a historic building that once housed the Crescent City Electric Company in 1910. It features the Marriott brand’s new design and décor, according to a news release that did not specify an opening date.
The hotel, previously a Comfort Inn, closed last October so that a roughly $10 million gut renovation could begin at the property. The property’s new owners are New Castle Hotels and Resorts of Connecticut, who planned to apply for historic tax credit financing for the project. Full Story.
