The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation has voted to honor the Hyatt Regency Hotel with the inaugural “Outstanding Philanthropy by a Hotel" award at the 7th annual Gold Medal Chefs Gala.
This is the first time Louisiana Hospitality Foundation is awarding a hotel.
The Hospy for Outstanding Philanthropy by a Hotel Award recognizes the hotel’s philanthropic and volunteer efforts, awarding their strong record of charitable giving, investments, volunteering and other social change efforts.
The Annual Gold Medal Chefs Gala and Hospitality Awards on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom inside the Morial New Orleans Convention Center. More than 600 attendees will enjoy an evening of culinary delight featuring a cocktail hour, five-course seated dinner, silent and live auctions, and an industry awards presentation.
The Foundation’s awards were created in 2012 to annually recognize and honor those in Louisiana’s hospitality community who make a significant impact in the lives of others.
This year’s slate of Louisiana-sourced “Gold Medal Chefs” includes Chef Jana Billiot of Restaurant R’evolution, Chef Scot Craig of Katie’s Restaurant and Francesca, Chef Michael Gulotta of Maypop and MoPho, Chef Carl Schaubhut of DTB, and Chef Amy Sins of Langlois.
The gala will also feature special guest and celebrity Chef Jose Garces of the Garces Restaurant Group in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who will prepare one of the evening’s dinner courses.
The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation’s mission is to strengthen Louisiana’s hospitality industry through support of individuals within the community. The Foundation supports workforce development programs, provides access to culinary and hospitality education, works to ensure a positive perception of LA’s hospitality industry, and provides financial assistance and/or guidance to people in the hospitality industry during times of crisis.
