Non-stop flights between New Orleans and Memphis will begin at Lakefront Airport on May 26th, Southern Airways, the airline announced today. Direct flights between the two cities existed for 70 years until 2014, when Delta Air Lines ended its last non-stop flight at Armstrong Airport.
In addition to continuous service to Memphis, Southern Airways will also provide seasonal non-stops from New Orleans to Destin, Fla., beginning this summer.
Flights to Memphis returned because of "demand and overwhelming requests," Southern Airways said in the release. Through Memphis and Destin, passengers will be able to connect to Atlanta's DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
Southern Airways fares begin around $198, with some routes as low as $88.
