If CEOs are looking for a state that fosters growth through progressive development programs, a quality living environment  and low taxes, Louisiana ranks among the best.

Chief Executive Magazine ranked Louisiana the 7th best state for business in its 2015 Best and Worst State Rankings. Louisiana jumped two spots from last year's rankings.

"During 2015, Louisiana showed strong improvement in attracting and retaining technology businesses, while also benefitting from a downstream position in oil and gas. CEOs are pleased with the Southeastern state's industrial incentives, cheap energy and non-union workforce," the magazine said.

Key companies listed as helping drive the strong position include the Shaw Group, CenturyLink and Albemarle.
