Named for Cardinal Jules Mazarin

17th Century Italian born statesman, Pontiff, gambler, royal aide de camp to French Kings. Machiavellian scholar and diplomat, Chief financial minister to the French Regent (Queen Anne) for Louis the XIV. Jules Mazarin was a renaissance man, a great character & collector of wealth, women and jewels, an avid reader, designer the Mazarin Diamond and a man of acclaimed wit. His reputation although once sullied became golden again. His spirit lives on in the Hotel Mazarin in New Orleans historic French Quarter.

Hotel is due to reopen for reservations on Dec 28th, 2011.

Patrick’s Bar Vin at the hotel is open for business daily from 4:30pm during the renovation process.
