Feed the Need NOLA is a partnership between the Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association and the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant Association. Our mission is to increase the hospitality industry’s contributions to the Greater New Orleans community by eliminating some of the economic burdens that area shelters face feeding those in need. The partnership allows for both the New Orleans Rescue Mission and St. Jude Community Center to feed a hot lunch once a week to those in need. Each Tuesday members sponsor and serve approximately 200 luncheon meals between the two shelters.

In Louisiana, one in six households is at risk of hunger every day, and many families are faced with decreased or even lost employment, which strains an already-stretched pocketbook to pay for simple daily needs.

Feed the Need NOLA will help save thousands in food costs annually for both New Orleans Mission and St. Jude Community Center, freeing up funding for other needs at their respective organizations.

“It’s wonderful to see the hospitality community come together to help fight hunger,” said David Bottner, Executive Director of the New Orleans Mission. “As you know, over the past ten years, the number of homeless citizens in New Orleans has grown significantly. We are so thankful for the help of the Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association to lend a hand – by coming together we can make a greater impact in making a difference.”
