Last week, AAA Four-Diamond hotel the InterContinental announced a $3.5 million dollar renovation on its ballroom just in time for the holiday season – though, we’d say wedding season!

The InterContinental is in a prime location in the heart of the Central Business District on St. Charles Avenue, and acts as a popular spot during Carnival season.

The renovation – which was led by the design team at Element526 out of Birmingham, Alabama – included a floor-to-ceiling makeover for the hotel’s third-floor meeting space, as well as the La Salle Ballroom.

In total, the hotel offers the ability for guests to host an event for up to 700 people within the updated space, which covers 8,330 square feet in total.

“No other hotel in New Orleans offers a comparable combination of style, flexibility and location,” said John Romano, general manager, in a press release about the new space.  “We feel confident that this upgrade will strike a positive chord with brides, event planners and gala organizers who want a sophisticated venue for their special occasions and because it was designed to accommodate any large gathering, business leaders will feel right at home hosting clients, partners, investors and colleagues.”
